Designing Timeless Elegance: The Transformative Power of Robson Rak & Made by Cohen

Robson Rak Architects, in collaboration with interior designer Susie Cohen of Made by Cohen and stylist Danika Rehfisch of Joan and Veda, have masterfully transformed Elwood House, a dark and cramped Edwardian home, into a light-filled and sophisticated abode. The team’s signature style, which celebrates simplicity, honesty, and environmentally consious design, was a perfect addition to the clients’ vision of preserving the old building’s beauty while embracing a timeless renovation.

At the heart of this project is the use of complimentary materials and iconic pieces of furniture, like the Panier stool by LEN in palm colour, which brings basket weaving patterns into the living room and acts as a statement piece in the space. The stool, which is manufactured from roto-moulded polyethylene and available in a broad range of colours, perfectly balances style and functionality.

The team’s attention to detail is evident throughout the design, with rich textures, natural formations, and contrasting materials amplifying the space’s overall aesthetic. The use of skylights and large windows allows natural light to flow into every space, eliciting an emotional connection with nature and setting the stage for a luxurious and sophisticated atmosphere.

This renovation and extension project is a true testament to Robson Rak Architects’ unrivalled quality, dedication to excellence, and sophisticated aesthetic. The team’s exceptional attention to detail and diverse use of materials has left a lasting impression on all who experience it, elevating Elwood House to a truly extraordinary home.

This design philosophy is reflected in the renovation of Elwood House, where the team made sure to preserve the building’s original structure, character, and heritage. The team’s sensitivity to the history and architecture of the building is a testament to their commitment to creating spaces that are timeless and elegant, while also being mindful of the environment. The renovation of Elwood House by Robson Rak Architects and Made by Cohen is a true testament to the transformative power of design.
