“The Works”: Reece’s New Global HQ – A Journey of Innovation Designed by Futurespace in Melbourne

Futurespace, a cutting-edge interior design and architectural agency, designed a new global headquarters for Reece called “The Works”. This innovative experience centre is in Cremorne, Melbourne’s inner-east digital and creative industries hub. With a total area of 8,000 m2 spread over seven floors, this headquarters offers a blend of showroom, hospitality, learning, and workspace environments that create a journey of connection and enable innovation.

The physical spaces designed and created by Futurespace are future-focused, intelligent, and practical, enhancing people’s lives and businesses. Futurespace is renowned for its exceptional interior design, and Reece’s new headquarters is no exception. The Reece headquarters is designed to elevate the experience of Reece’s products and services, and it begins on the ground floor in the showroom/retail environment. This space provides opportunities to immerse oneself in products, services, and education. Futurespace handpicked the furniture used in the project to ensure consistency with the vision of the space. These included designer-made pendant lighting, office chairs, sofas, and tables.

The design concept revolves around the idea of movement and fluidity. A spiral staircase creates a sense of fluidity from the showroom area up to level one, where Reece’s network, partners, and staff are accommodated via multi-function meeting and training rooms, touchdown work points for visitors, and the group’s executive boardroom. The interiors on levels 2 to 6 are designed to herald a new paradigm of hybrid working. The interior design explores agility and flexibility, with critical behaviours and signature technology aligning to underpin successful hybrid working.

The Softscape Pendant Lamp designed by LEN, used in the space, adds an extra dimension of warmth, and serenity. The amber glass pendant lighting emanates a warm and soft glow, creating a serene atmosphere. The Softscape Pendant Lamp is versatile and can complement any space in various settings. They balance the contrasting elements of the Reece headquarters’ design, from its classic and wooden accents to its futuristic features.
