Australian design firm MPH Architects has recently completed a new project in Dulwich, South Australia, working with the Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of South Australia (PQSA) to create an elevated workspace that promotes inclusivity and accessibility for individuals with spinal cord injuries.

The fit-out was crafted to elevate the PQSA’s mission to support and empower individuals with spinal cord injuries, providing them with access to a comfortable workspace that promotes inclusiveness and accessibility.

With a strong design language established for PQSA, this fit-out acts as a working exemplar of these values and has become a significant addition to the community.

Throughout the fit-out, MPH Architects has created a layered and bold approach that elicits an emotional response from those who visit. Every detail has been meticulously crafted, revealing a natural and sophisticated sensibility. 

The fit-out is a perfect example of how MPH Architects’ use of contrasting elements can be used to define a space. Rich textures and layered compositions are used to create a versatile environment that blends traditional and contemporary styles. The result is a unique space encompassing an extensive range of elements and facilitating social interaction.

The Bauhaus Collection, designed by Helen Kontouris for LEN, was selected for the PQSA space. As an Australian-designed and made furniture collection, the Bauhaus pieces showcase exceptional craftsmanship and quality while adding an authentic touch of Australian designer furniture to the PQSA fit-out. The Bauhaus seating system’s gently curved and visually bold design, along with its soft quilted forms, provided comfort and functionality to the space.
